Permanent Residence: common questions

What is changing in Express Entry on November 3, 2026?

IRCC is adding points for eligible Canadian work experience and for qualifying job offers in high-wage occupations, and an LMIA will no longer be needed for a qualifying job offer. Scores in the pool are being recalculated automatically.

Is a provincial nomination worth pursuing?

For many candidates with borderline scores, yes. An enhanced nomination adds significant points to an Express Entry profile. Which stream fits depends on your occupation and province.
